How to make a perfect Omelette

Omelets are a favorite breakfast food of mine. How do you make them perfect? There are many recipes and methods I tried, but none worked. I have some tips and tricks to help you make delicious, fluffy omelets every single morning.

Before we start making omelets, let's remember that eggs are temperamental. Eggs must be purchased fresh, preferably organic, and kept chilled until ready for cooking. You must keep them cool enough to allow the whites to form properly and the yolks to become too runny if they're not kept at the right temperature. This will make your omelets appear strangely colored. If you want to make omelets right away, it's best not to use eggs that are too cold.

Another tip is to separate each egg before adding them to the saucepan. Because this could cause your omelet to become curdled, you don't want any yolk to be mixed with any white.

You might burn the bottom of the egg if you place the egg directly on the stovetop. This could ruin the texture of your omelet. Instead, place the egg in the microwave for 10 second before you put it in the skillet. The microwave heat cooks your egg just right, without it becoming too soft.

Next, let's talk about mixing the eggs. Mixing eggs together is important. You need to beat them well. You can do this by turning the bowl of your mixer upside down. Then, vigorously shake the bowl. The egg will be thoroughly mixed in the bowl as the air is whipped.

The fun part is now - adding the milk to the mixture. Mix half of the milk with the eggs. Then fold the eggs in half into the remaining milk. Do not be alarmed if there are still egg streaks visible. Once the omelet flips, these streaks will disappear.

After you have done folding the eggs, heat the pan on medium heat. The oil will start to smoke. Once the oil begins to heat, add 1/4 cup butter and swirl the pan to coat it. Now carefully crack open the lid of the pan and sprinkle salt into the pan. A pinch of salt will help prevent the omelet from sticking to the pan.

Cover the pan once you have formed the omelet. Wait for the top to set. Flip the omelet with a spatula, or flip it upside down. Cook the other half for another minute. Take out the omelet and place it in a bowl.

This recipe is best when used with whole milk. But, you can use skimmed milk as well.
