How To

How to make a perfect Omelette

Omelets is one of my favourite breakfast foods. But how do they turn out so perfectly? I've tried many recipes and different methods but none have worked. Today, I'd like to share some tips with you in order to make delicious and fluffy omelets every day.

It is important to know that eggs can be temperamental when making omelets. They must be fresh, preferably from the organic market, and be kept cold until cooking. You must keep them cool enough to allow the whites to form properly and the yolks to become too runny if they're not kept at the right temperature. This will make your omelets appear strangely colored. It is best to use room-temperature eggs if you are going to cook them right away.

Another tip is to separate your egg before adding it into the pan. Because this could cause your omelet to become curdled, you don't want any yolk to be mixed with any white.

If you add the egg directly onto the stovetop, you might end up burning the bottom part of the egg, which would ruin the texture of your omelet. Instead, place the egg in the microwave for 10 second before you put it in the skillet. The heat from the microwave cooks the egg just enough without overcooking it.

Next, let's talk about mixing the eggs. You want to mix the eggs thoroughly before you add them. Turn the bowl upside down and grab the whisk to do this. Next, shake the bowl vigorously. By doing this, the egg is thoroughly mixed with the air in the bowl.

The fun part begins - you need to pour the milk into your mixture. Fold the eggs in the milk mixture by first pouring half of it into the egg whites. If you still see streaks of eggs, don't worry. These streaks will disappear once the omelet has been turned over.

After you have done folding the eggs, heat the pan on medium heat. The oil will start to smoke. When the oil is hot enough, add 1/4 cup butter to the pan. Stir it around until the butter covers the entire pan. Open the lid and sprinkle salt on the pan. The salt will help to prevent the omelet's sticking to the pan.

Once the omelet has formed, cover the pan again and wait for the top side to set completely. Flip the omelet upside down or with a spatula. Cook the other side for another minute or two. Take out the omelet and place it in a bowl.

This recipe works best with whole milk, but skimmed milk also works.
